About the PTA

At Deighton Gates we have a thriving PTA which organises events throughout the year. The events are good fun, a great way to meet other families and raise money for our school.

All the money raised goes towards providing extra educational opportunities and equipment, making Deighton Gates a richer learning environment for our children.

For the benefit of all our children we would love everyone to join in with PTA events, whether it is as an organiser, a helper on the day or turning up to support the events.

With a little help from everyone we can make a big difference.

In 2017/18, we supported school with the upgrade of the IT suite, purchase of new carpets and lockers, bought a set of 100 books for year 5 and 6 children, and have bought new microphones and speakers to be used for class assemblies and plays.  We were also successful in raising funds to purchase a public access defibrillator, located on the wall outside the school office, which is available for the wider community as well as school.   (In the event of an emergency, dial 999, and they will give you the code for the cabinet.  The defibrillator is fully automated - as soon as you open it, it starts talking to you and telling you what to do!).  Finally, we were also able to support school with the purchase of an all weather Fitness Track which was installed over the summer - it's great to see the children making so much use of this already!

Preloved / second-hand uniform:

If you have any uniform that you no longer need and that still has some life left in it, please hand it in to the School Office at any time for the PTA to sell on.

Recycled clothes and shoes:

We have a recycled clothes and shoe bin in the school car park for items that are no longer fit to wear. Please bring in any unwanted items (in bags) as they all help raise money for our school.

Easyfundraising page:

If you do any shopping online, please do consider registering here  - we get a donation for any shopping done via this site, and there are over 3000 retailers to choose from including Next, Argos, etc.

Order name tags:

Click the link below to order your name tags.  Don't forget to use our school ID number - 33124 - to earn Deighton Gates some extra money.

Foreign currency:

Here at Deighton Gates we're busy fundraising by collecting old British or foreign coins and notes, even obsolete currency.  Initially, you'll see lots of posters around the school as well as the collection bucket.  Once all the currency has been collected we send it to who exchanges it into cash we can use.  The bucket will be here al year so keep it coming please!
