Letter from Mrs Harrison about gates and drop offs.

Monday 7th September 2020,

Dear Parents and Carers,

Well, it is almost time… We have had a busy day in school today making sure that all the arrangements are in place. The governors have signed off our control measures today after visiting the school this afternoon.

You may have read in the press about a local school that has already had to close to some year groups. It is essential that we all work together to reduce risk and the best way to do this is by minimising contact. Please refresh your understanding of the measures in place in the community that we must all follow to prevent an outbreak in school. You will find the guidance here.

In addition to the measures that we have already shared with you, we are introducing a one –way system to reduce the contact of families within the grounds. We will be using 3 gates. Children are asked to line up, without parents on the spots next to their class label on the playground.

Gate 1 is the main gate on Deighton Road. The pedestrian gate next to the Superintendent’s bungalow is the entrance. Parents using this entrance are asked to walk through the Reception playground and to the KS1 playground to drop children off. To exit, please use the new path to the KS2 playground and follow round to the back of year 5, exiting the site by the other gate on Deighton Road. Please keep to the left and follow the one way system.

Gate 2 is the back gate off Ainsty Road. This will be 2 way. Please keep to the left.

Gate 3 is the gate by Brook Babes. This is only for parents who are dropping children off at Brook Babes and then continuing into school. It is one way and parents are asked to leave by Gate 1. Please keep to the left.

Please remember that KS 2 children are to be left at the gates to make their own way to class. Staff will be available for support as we get into this routine.

When you come to collect your children, please wait on the playground away from the doors at the allocated time. The children will be sent out to you. Please then leave immediately, using the one way system to Gate 1 or Gate 2. Gate 3 will remain for access for Brook Babes only.

Check us out on the blog getting ready today! https://deightonblog.wordpress.com/2020/09/07/we-are-ready-and-waiting-for-you-do-you-recognise-us/

See you tomorrow

Best wishes

Mrs Claire Harrison
