As a parent, grandparent, carer, friend or neighbour of a Deighton Gates child, you are welcomed to the family that is the "Friends of Deighton Gates".
Formerly known as the PTA, we hold monthly meetings and everyone is encouraged to attend and share ideas on how to raise vital funds for our children. It’s also a good place to have a cuppa and chat! The more people we have as active members the easier it is to fundraise, organise family events and develop new ideas for future events.
We hold regular, very popular events such as our summer fairs, Christmas Quizzes, school discos and bake sales hosted by the year groups. We have been very lucky with fantastic support from local community to hold regular raffles with prizes that have included a glamping holiday, tickets to Leeds United, voucher for photoshoots, beauty treatment and the list goes on!
The success of these events has been down to the amazing support we get from parents and friends of the school. Families have realised that these events raise money for the school and as importantly they are great fun!!
In recent years the money we have raised has funded an upgraded IT suite, a fully re-furbished Sensory Room, our all-weather fitness track, new school library books, defibrillator (which is available for school as well as the whole local community) and also an Imagination Playground resource, classroom smart-boards, microphone / speaker system and much more.
The Friends of Deighton Gates also provides every child with a reading folder to start school with and a gift to remember their time here when they leave for high school.
The events are a great opportunity for you and your child to socialise with other parents, staff and members of the school community. They are great days and nights out for everyone who attends.

The new name for the PTA is Friends Of Deighton Gates
Following the decision on our new name, the children were invited to design a logo. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries. Some really creative and imaginative ideas. The overall winner was decided by a vote from committee members and staff.
The winner, Annabel Kendrew (Year 4) and runner up, Maddie Crow (Year 3) were awarded with prizes at the school assembly, and the winning logo will now be used in all FoDG literature.
Thanks to everyone who took part.
Lindsey Harrison and Stephanie Wright have both decided to step down as Chair and Co Chair at the end of this school year. A massive thanks to both of them for all their hard work and commitment to the PTA during their tenure. They will both still be involved in the PTA, most specifically Lindsey leading on the Summer Fair next year after such a successful event this year.
Stepping into their shoes, we have a team of 3 Co-Chairs with a view to spreading the workload more evenly going forward. Welcome to the team, Celia Green, Marguerite Procter and Tamsin Day.
Our Summer Fair on Saturday raised £4,221.74!
Thank you so much to everyone who helped make our first fair since 2019 a big success.
We are very grateful for all the donated teddies/fancy dress/cakes/raffle prizes/chocolate/bottles you sent in. A massive thank you to all those who volunteered before, during or after with gathering raffle prizes, selling tickets, organising, setting up, running stalls and putting away. [Special thanks to Ian who provided the delicious food, and Lucinda Wetherby Face Painting who did the beautiful face-painting].
Thank you to all those who attended on the day – we hope you enjoyed it! If there were any raffle prizes you had your eye on and didn’t win – you will find a list of many of our lovely prize donors, along with our wonderful sponsors below.
The organisation of an event as big as this is no mean feat, and so a huge shout out must be given to our Chair of the PTA, Lindsey Harrison, to Dan Brett and also Steph Wright for giving up so much time to make this event come together.
