Spelling Homework
Phonics
As we head into the first two weeks of the Summer 2 term (Week 1 and Week 2), there will be no formal weekly spelling lists set for the children.
Instead, we are dedicating this time to maximising our focus on phonics as the children continue to prepare for the upcoming Phonics Screening Check.
To support this at home, your child is coming home today with two phonics booklets containing a mix of real words and pseudo-words (which we call 'alien words'). We kindly ask that you use these booklets to practice blending and reading with your child daily in place of their usual spelling practice.
Thank you so much for your continued support and for joining us in this big phonics push over the next fortnight!
Extra Spellings
Below you can find some extra spellings if you wish to practise with your child as the year progresses. In the Autumn term, we will be recapping Phase 3 Tricky Words and then moving onto more Phase 4 and Phase 5 words!
