Forest School outdoor activities session. Using our senses to explore our surroundings.

Our first Forest School session:

We had a brilliant time at our first aid workshop.We joined Year 1 to learn about now to make an emergency 999 phone call, looking for danger before we try to help, how to lift the patient’s chin to clear their airway and listen to see if they are breathing. We also had a go at putting on bandages.

Art: We had a great time using mod-roc to create sculptures of abstract figures inspired by Henry Moore.

Art: We used charcoal to sketch our partners. We explored different shading techniques to create light and shade.

Art: Creating clay sculptures inspired by Barbara Hepworth

DT: Some of our finished vehicles and the final races.

DT: We have been using tools carefully to measure, cut and assemble our vehicles.

D.T: We have been using computer software to design and create prototypes for our moving vehicle projects.

Science: We investigated to see if we could change the strength of paper by rolling, twisting and folding and use it to make bridges.

Maths: We have been investigating and solving problems using 2D shapes.

Science: We have been investigating the uses and suitability of materials.

Art: We have created our own artwork inspired by Henri Matisse.

Art: We have been exploring using thick and thin black lines to create portraits in the style of Henri Matisse.

Art: We have been exploring adding white to colours to create tints and black to colours to make darker tones.

Science: We have been investigating the effect exercising has on our bodies.

Science: We have been working together investigate mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds. We have been identifying their off-spring and discussing the similarities and differences to adult animals.

Maths: We have been exploring place value using 2 digit numbers.
