Welcome to Year One

with Miss Welsh and Mrs Thompson

We can't wait to welcome you to our class assembly on Friday 14th March!

Our theme in Spring Two is Growth & Green Fingers

This half term our learning will have a Science theme, children will learn to identify and name many types of plants and trees. We will also be focused on Geography too - we will learn all about the world's seven continents and five oceans - there will be lots to learn! In Art and DT we will enjoy printing using paints and different materials, such as cotton buds, and we will design and make our very own yummy fruit kebabs too.

Homework expectations in Year One:

Children are expected to read at least 3 times per week at home and practice their spellings on spelling shed / paper (below) at least 3 times a week. The children will receive 5 Dojo points for reading 3 times at home, and 5 Dojo points for practising their spellings 3 times. In total children can earn 10 extra points per week for completing their homework.
